Empties 2016: Skincare

Hey guys!

I have been collecting some of my skincare products that I used up completely for a while now. (A few months to be honest) I thought it would make for a good #Empties post. For all those who don’t know the concept of this post- it’s basically a list of products that I have used up completely in the recent past along with my opinion of whether I would buy the product again or not. So without talking too much, here are my recent Empties (in no particular order)

1. Kronokare Caribbean Ginger Body Lotion

I was gifted this product by the Kronokare PR team and decided to give it a shot. This body lotion is one of the most moisturizing creams I have ever used. It’s definitely not thick like a body butter but does the job, especially during the summer. It doesn’t contain any parabens and is SLS free, which is amazing! It does have a fairly strong ginger fragrance that I love but it’s understandable for the smell to not be appealing to everyone. Will I buy this again? : I am not too sure! It’s a good product but there are just so many amazing body lotions in the market that I wouldnt pick this one up specifically! Available here.

2. OGX Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco

This product was also a PR gift and I am absolutely obsessed with it. Sadly, I can’t find it anywhere in India (though it’s available on amazon.com). I used this oil as a serum on damp hair, after washing my hair. It’s absolutely amazing to nourish thin brittle and damaged hair. Once you wash your hair, apply this on the lengths of the hair and then dry it, the hair is so soft and smooth and it’s almost unbelievable. I highly recommend this product especially if you want to strengthen your hair and bring some shine to it.  Will I buy this again? : YES! Available Here

3. L’oreal Professional Paris Liss Unlimited Evening Primrose Oil

This product retails for INR 600. Just like the moroccon oil, I use this primrose oil as a hair serum. I have been using this over ans over again  for years since I feel that this serum is the best one in the market. It is pricey but luckily a few drops go a long way! This is ideal for managing thick and frizzy hair. I apply this serum right before blow drying my hair since this oil adds an extra film on my hair protecting it from heat damage. If you have unmangable hair that is really tough to detanlge, simply apply 3-4 drops in the palm of your hands and run it through the lengths of your hair. Brushing or combing your hair thereafter would be much, much easier. Will I buy this again? : YES! Available here

4. Za Fresh Foamy Cleanser

This is my favorite cleanser! I had heard a lot about Za so managed to get my hands on the facial cleanser last year from NewU. From day 1 of me trying it, I was absolutely in love. Just after one use, you can tell such a big difference. The clogged up pores clear out, makeup gets removed and my face feels squeaky clean and moistruized. Once I ran out of my first tube, I tried to find the second one everywhere but just couldn’t get hold of it in Delhi. I don’t know if its discontinued or what happened to this cleanser but it’s so, so good! When I went to Singapore in April, I managed to get hold of it and stupidly only bought one tube 🙁 Will I buy this again? YES! about 10000 bottles since it’s so hard to find.

5. Nivea Body Lotion Express Hyderation

I have been using Nivea products since I was a kid and you know you just cannot go wrong with them. As winter was approaching an end, I was looking for a body lotion that would do the job of moisturizing without being as heavy and sticky as a body butter. Lucky for me, I found this Nivea body lotion and  it does the job. It’s super thin and light on the skin and doesn’t feel cakey or sticky. Will I buy this again: Yes! However, I know Nivea has a lot of other body lotions too so I may want to check those out before running back to this one. Available here

6. Soap & Glory Products

Foam Call Body Wash,  The Breakfast Scrub, The Righteous Butter,  Sugar Crush Body Buttercream

Over the past few months I tried out 4 soap and glory products and so rather than talking about each of them at length, I thought I’d just give you so information on them, all together. To begin with, they are all beyond amazing!Foam Call is a body wash that does it job really well along with having one of the most pleasant scents possible (just like all other Soap and Glory products). The bigger plus about this product is that it actually does foam up to a huge extent and lathers really well on the skin! If you’re not a fan of exfoliators, this creamy body wash will be perfect for you. The Breakfast Scrub is hands down one of the most popular products by Soap and Glory since it legitimately smells of breakfast. If you don’t feel like tasting your the product after applying it, you can change my name! (sounds super gross but it just smells too good to be true). A little goes a long way and it works well when used in combination with the Foam Call Body wash. The Righteous Butter and Sugar Crush Body Buttercream are both good at moisturizing but what tells them apart significantly is their scent. The former has a very strong perfume like scent so if you want to a body butter when the fragrance lingers all day, this is just the product for you! It’s really good for calming dry patches and smoothening the skin! The Sugar Crush butter cream is my favorite! It has a sweet scent with a sour hint from the lime and I love it! Even though it’s a buttercream, it applies on the skin really well and vanishes in no time. So, it doesn’t end up feeling as heavy a s body butter. All products are available in Sephora.

Foam Call Body Wash

 The Breakfast Scrub

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Buttercream

7. Olay Age Defying Body Lotion with Vitamin E

I’ve been a fan of Olay products for many years now ever since my mom started using their products. Even though I am 24 and don’t really need age defying products, I decided to try this lotion out since I do have dry skin. The formula contains vitamin E to help ease dryness and protect your skin This product also helps to keep the skin soft all the day. Ofcourse, with a product like this, the benefits take some time to show up it’s really worth the investment if you want to younger looking smoothe skin. I  did not buy this product from India, however it is available on Amazon (though very expensive since it’s imported).

8. Victoria’s Secret Drenched in PINK Warm and Cosy body lotion

I will be honest about this one! I have had this body lotion for a really, really long but just took so long to use it up. I have no complaints from it but on the other hand, it’s not something to die for. This lotion is definitely for winter since it does have a warmth to it (scent). This creamy body lotion from Victoria’s Secret PINK collection creates an instant moisture infusion with aloe, oat and grapeseed extracts and a healthy combo of vitamins E and C. It’s a good product to try out if you have normal skin and are looking for a daily body lotion with a girly scent. If you want to check out some Victoria’s Secret products in India, you can go ahead to Nykaa.comIMG_0988

9. Tresemme Platinum Straight Shampoo & 10. Tresemme Split Remedy Conditioner

I have been using Tresemme products for a really long time and I am obsessed with them! The Platinum Strength Shampoo is really good if you have brittle thin hair that breaks really easily. The Split remedy conditioner works really well hand in hand with the shampoo since not only does it help with smoothening the hair, but also get rid of split ends over a period of time. The shampoo lathers up really well and you do notice a huge difference after using it consistently. The conditioner on the other hand also does it’s job really well and it’s worth buying if you have frizzy hair that’s heavily damaged.

10. Batiste Dry Shampoo

Batiste Dry Shampoo is the best thing that can happen to anyone with oily hair. If you don’t like washing your hair every day this dry shampoo with solve all your problems. Not only does this product completely soak up the oil from the hair and look like its totally clean, it also adds some lovely texture which makes it really easy for styling the hair. The Batiste dry shampoo (The original version), does leave a little white residue (like a powder) in your hair that can be noticeable if you have black hair. In such a situation, the key is to massage the dry shampoo into the scalp thoroughly and I promise it will disappear. It’s those few extra seconds that are needed to make sure that the product is soaked into the scalp. I have stalked up 4 more bottles of this product and is definitely something I cannot live without! I don’t think it’s available in India, but if you have friends or family going to UK, you can get this from Boots or SuperDrug.

11. Peace Love and Juicy Courture Body Creame

Just like the Victorias Secret Body Lotion, this body cream by Juicy Couture is nice to use but easy to live without. It has a very nice scent, almost identical to Juicy Couture perfumes and for that reasons, it feels like you’re applying a liquid moisturizing perfume to your skin. However, having said that, it is a product that you can do without since there are just so many body lotions that you can buy for a better price. This product works as a really lovely gift as it is a little luxurious and has a very feminine touch to it. IMG_0985

12. Seba Med Cleansing Shower Oil

If you have sensitive skin that is also dry, you have to try out the Seba Med Cleansing oil. Unlike the typical soap body washes, this is an oil based body wash that not only cleans the skin thoroughly but also makes it really soft and smooth. It is so effective that you don’t need to use a body lotion after using this! (especially in the summer). The best part about this product is that it’s soap free and hence it will not cause any reactions and will work with all skin types. You will be able to find this product at any good Chemist.IMG_0982

13. Body Shop Satsuma Orange Body butter

The Body Shop is known for it’s body butters and though I have tried so many ranges from them, I have never ever faced any issues with any product. I absolutely love the scent of Orange during the summer since it’s so fresh and citrusy. This Satsuma body butter does have a strong orange scent so you need to keep that in mind before purchasing it. Unlike the other body butters by the Body Shop, this one isnt super thick yet it’s well hydrating without causing any oiliness. You should try out this product if you don’t want to go in for the very thick Cocoa Body butter and are looking for something lighter. The Satsuma essential oil is great for moisturizing the skin and the shea butter is packed with vitamins A, E and F that nourish the skin. Available in Body Shop outlets.

I hope this list of empties gives you some useful information about some products that you may want to try out! If you have queries, you can comment here or comment on my Instagram posts (I always reply!) 🙂

Untill next time xx

Collective Beauty Haul: Feel Unique & Nykaa (ALL ABOUT SHIPPING AND CUSTOMS)

Hey guys!

I have been shopping for makeup on and off along with constantly trying out new products over the best few months! Since I have bought quite a bit of stuff in the recent past, I have decided to divide my haul into two posts rather than bombard you with one never ending blog post. So without going into too many details, lets begin!

The items shown in this post have been bought on nykaa.com & feelunique.com (my two favorite beauty sites! Nykaa is an indian website with tons of brands such as NYX, Batiste, Makeup Revolution; which aren’t that easily available over the counters in Indian drugstores! There are options of cash on delivery as well with great service that makes life really easy! On the other hand, FeelUnique is hands on one of the best international sites that deliver to India! What I love about feelunqiue.com is it’s amazing collection of brands such as Rimmel London, NYX, theBalm, Real techniques etc. It also houses brands that are easily available in india such as Maybelline and Loreal. However the makeup collection is international and you will find a lot of products that are not available in India (example: Maybelline  New York under eye eraser!) Feelunique.com offers free shipping to India for an order over 60 pounds (Approx 6,000 Rs). There are no additional custom chargers. If your order is less than 60 pounds, there would be a shipping charge of 15 pounds (Approx Rs.1500).

Since  I bought these products a while ago, I have tried post of them out and will try my best to give as many details as possible. For the products that I can’t give much information about in this post, please comment on Instagram and I’ll surely give you an update!

Skin Care & Other essentials:

1. Nivea Oil in Lotion Cocoa Nourish (Rs. 120): This body lotion works really, really well for dry skin! I love lotions that spell of coconut and cocoa butter and this ofcourse was right up my alley! It’s extremely light weight and is not sticky on the skin either.

Bought from: nykaa.com

2. Feel Unique Perfect Complexion Blending Sponge (3.38 pounds):,  I wanted to try out different dupes of the beauty blender so got my hands on this one! I have already tried the real techniques sponge that I am obsessed with and to be honest, this does not match up to it. It does the trick of blending foundation into your skin but the effect is no where close to being flawless. The sponge is also not super soft like the real techniques sponge or the original beauty blender.

Bought from: feelunique.com

2. Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water (3.35 pounds): This  is my holy grail makeup remover. It’s absolutely fabulous. This micellar cleansing water works wonders to take out stubborn waterproof makeup without stinging your eyes or making your skin feel oily afterwards. It does such a great job that you after using the product, you need not even wash your skin and simply pat your skin dry. It’s the PERFECT dupe for the bioderma cleansing water and I swear by it!

Bought from: feelunique.com

Base Makeup:

1. Maybelline Dream BB Fresh (7.99 pounds) : I love using BB creams and hence I am always on the lookout for new ones. I bought this BB Cream as it claims the following:

– Creates a natural glow.
Compliments skin-tone.
SPF 30 UV protection.
Hydrates all day.
-. Blurs imperfections.
Oil free, non-greasy.
Looks visibly smooth.
Feels fresh.

Having used it a couple of times, I can say that it sticks to all its claims. It is pretty lightweight and doesnt feel sticky on the skin! I do however moisterize my skin before using this. It has a pretty good coverage for a BB cream and I was very pleasantly surprised.

Bought from: feelunique.com

2. NYX Above and Beyond Full Coverage Concealer: I have used this concealer only once and my first reaction is that I don’t like it. You need to apply this concealer on your problem areas with a brush. It’s a very high coverage concealer but is way too drying. In fact, I found it so drying that in my opinion it highlighted an area more than concealing it. I would try it a couple more times to see if it works better.

Bought from: feelunique.com

3. NYX Wonder Stick (10 pounds): I was really excited to try out a contour/highlight stick and when I saw this one from nyx, I knew I just had to pick it up. It’s a cream contour and highlight stick thats really easy to apply and blend. If you’re new into contouring, I would highly recommend this product since you can apply the skin directly into the areas required and simply blend the product with your fingers!

Bought from: feelunique.com

4. Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder: (3.99 pounds): I am one of those people that don’t leave my house without using a little bit of powder of my T-Zone so every chance I get to find the perfect mattifying pressed powder, I grab it! This one by Rimmel does a really great job and offers a great amount of coverage too. Sometimes, I wear it alone with just moisterizer on my face. If you any recommendations for a loose mattifying powder, please let me know! I havent found any that I like till date.

Bought from: feelunique.com

1.  Eylure London Complete Eyelash Kit (7 pounds): I am not a fake eyelashes person at all and haven’t tried a single pair ever. I bought this kit hoping that it will help me initiate into the Falsies world. The kit has everything you need from re-usable eyelashes, to an applicator and glue. But, truth me told: I havent tried it yet! I am just so scared of trying false eyelashes. Maybe, one day I will! It’s on my list.

Bought from feelunique.com

2. Maybelline Rocket Volum’ Express (7.99 pounds): If you have been following my blog and instagram for a while, you would know that I am completely obsessed with Maybelline’s The Falsies Mascara. It’s something that I buy again and again. This time however, I tried to experiment a bit and it worked! This Rocket Volume Express Mascara gives your lashes trememdous amount of volume making them look thick, and fuller. However, when it comes to lengthening- probably not so much. I would suggest pairing this one with Benefit’s Roller Lash Mascara for the perfect balance of volume and length.

Bought from feelunique.com

3.Maybelline New York Liner Express Eye Liner (5.09 pounds): If you’re looking  for a precision eyeliner, it’s this one! I am horrible at applying eyeliner so my goal is to find products that are very easy to use along with giving me scope to mess up. This eyeliner has the thinnest tip EVER. So, you can go slow and steady and create the perfect wing with precision. However, it requires patience since you won’t get the perfect wing in just one swipe.

Bought from feelunique.com

4.NYX Eyebrow Pencil: ( 5 pounds): For all those asking me how I fill in my brows in my recent selfies- here’s your answer. I am absolutely obsessed with NYX’s products and this one doesn’t disappoint either. This eyebrow pencil is so easy to use and feels just like a crayon. It’s really as simple as colouring in light short strokes to give off the perfect natural yet filled in look. I highly recommend this one.

Bought from feelunique.comIMG_7706

1. L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Moist Matte Lipstick – PM414 Sheer Plum (Rs.740): This is my THIRD bullet of this shade: Sheer plum and left to me, I can see my self buying 100000 more. This lipstick is really as perfect as it gets. It’s moist and matte at the same time; a combination thats so rare to find. The colour is a brownish purple and it looks fabulous on indian skin tones. TRY IT OUT!

Bought from nykaa,com

2. Rimmel Lasting Finish Colour Rush Intense Colour Balm- VIVA VIOLET ( 5.99 pounds): Just like Sheer Plum, this Colour Balm by Rimmel is my second bullet since I just cannot get enough of it. This balm is perfect for everyday wear when you want to glam up your look without putting in too much effort. It’s super comfortable on the lips as well since it has a really moisteruizing. It’s not very long lasting but I don’t mind at all since I carry it in my bag all day and re-apply it when I feel the need. I just love the pop of colour it gives to the lips in one swipe!

Bought from feelunique.com

3. L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Collection Exclusive Pinks EVA (Rs. 796): If a berry or violet shade is too much for you, then you should get your hands on this perfect pink-nude. I was looking for a shade like this for such a long time but couldn’t find one that suits my skin tone. EVA by loreal looks beautiful on my lips without washing me off! I love darker colours but this one is really nice for a day-to-day pink, especially in the summer.

Bought from nykaa.com

4. L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Collection Exclusive Pinks0 JLO (Rs. 796): & here we are back again, with a berry shade! As it’s pretty obvious by now, I am obsessed with dark purple-berry lip colours. I feel it suits my skin tone (or duskier skin tones) really well! What I love about this shade is how long wearing it is. It has the perfect balance of pink and purple and I feel one can pull this off in the day time too with a crisp white shirt!

Bought from nykaa.com

My Favourite Perfumes

FullSizeRender copy

Hey guys!

In today’s post I am going to be sharing with you my favourite perfumes! Let me begin by saying a couple of things. First, I am really bad at describing scents so have taken the help of the internet and the official brands themselves to describe these scents. I didn’t see the point of saying “OHHH THIS SMELLS AMAZING!” for every scent without actually explaining each of them to you. Second, None of the perfumes have been bought by me using my own money. The first five are mine (they are gifted to me) and  the next four are my mum’s that I use on a regular basis since I do live with my parents. My mom and I share our makeup and perfumes quite a bit which is why it made sense to include these scents in my favourites post. Third. These aren’t all the perfumes that mum and I own but instead these have got to be MY top picks. This does not mean that they are the best perfumes in the market- it is simply a matter of personal preference. Fourth. I will not be listing the price for any of these since I didn’t buy any of them using my money. Neither do I want to show off in any way! So, if you like the sound of any of these perfumes, you can check them out on google 🙂

Now that we have that out of the way, let’s begin!

Michael Kors- Sporty Citrus – 50 ml

I have listed this perfume as the first one since this is what I reach for everyday. It’s a no -brainer for me as its a super fresh scent with a musky trail. It’s basically a  sweet union of orange and mandarin along with scents of fresh orange. What makes it unique is the fact that it has masculine undertones for the perfect balance!

Victoria’s Secret – Noir Tease – 50 ml

One of those bottles that would take you back in time. This super sweet yet sexy feminine scent is a combination  Black vanilla, frozen pear and blooming gardenia. What stands out for me is the beautiful glass bottle with the lace pink pattern and atomiser.

Dior addict  – 50 ml

young, playful and happy scent that works really well as an everyday perfume as well. The top notes are bergamot and grapefruit; middle notes are lotus, freesia and pomegranate; base notes are musk and woodsy notes. Which basically means that it has fruit, floral and warm and woody tones which gives it a good balance.

Givenchy- Play – 75 ml

This perfume’s composition combines floral and fruity aromas that are gradually transformed into a sensual woody trail – fresh, juicy and musky, all at once. It’s not too feminine and works well using all year round.

Juicy couture-  Peace Love and Juicy Couture – 100 ml

This juicy perfume is different for all the Juicy Couture perfumes that you will come across. It’s not super sweet and girly and instead it’s very green! It almost smells like spring, leaves and spring. The bottle here is a show stopper!

Prada- Infusion d’iris 50 ml

This Prada perfume looks super retro and it’s bottle stands out from a lot of modern perfumes out there. The name of this fragrance was inspired by the old method of producing iris extract which took six months of soaking until the sweetly fresh iris notes were extracted. This modern and elegant fragrance opens with notes of mandarin, galbanum, orange and orange blossom which lead to the heart composed of iris, cedar and vetiver. To cut it short, it’s the perfect modern woman perfume- elegant yet bold.

Ysl – Parisienne -50 ml

The two words to define this perfume are femine and bold. Viinyl is definitely the stand out feature apart from which it is a fruity and rose scent . It also have an extra depth from violets and berries.

My Burberry – 90 ml

My Burberry is a floral, earthy and modern perfume. The bottle is inspired by the classic reach coat and I absolutely love it.  The perfume is supposed to be inspired by London showers and it does justice! It’s the perfect everyday luxury bottle which a scent of the city showers, earth and florals.

Dior Midnight Poison – 50 ml

IMG_2464This perfume basically  smells like MAGIC!  Known to be a classic, you will NOT go wrong with this one. It has an  opening with citrus notes of mandarin and bergamot to the rose heart, and patchouli, amber and French vanilla in the base.

On my wish list:

Chloe Eau de Toilette

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle

Have you tried out any of these perfumes? What do you think about them? Please do share your favourite perfumes with me! I would love to try them out.

PS: I am no perfume expert at all and if you know me, you’ll see my using a humble body mist very often, especially if I’m just sitting at home. However, I do love indulging once in a while. I haven’t ever bought a perfume on my own and I guess I see Chloe being on top of my wish list!

Collective Beauty Haul: Makeup Revolution, TOPSHOP Beauty, Fleur de Force Makeup & more!

Hey guys!

I’m back with my third post this week! {let’s take a moment to pat me on the back! Haha just kidding! } Im so happy to be posting so regularly for you all! Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback 🙂 In today’s post I will be sharing with you some of my recent beauty buys! Everything from Nykaa and Feel Unique has been bought by me using my money! Clinique and Estée Lauder lipsticks were bought by my dad as a gift.  This post is not sponsored in anyway! However, hello nykaa people! I would love to work with you! HAHA

FullSizeRenderMakeup Revolution London Ultra Blush Palette

Shade: All about Pink

Let me confess: I love blush. No, seriously I LOVE IT. If there’s one product that I wear every single day with or without any foundation, its blush. This is also one product that I hoard and can’t get enough off. When I saw this product in the Nykaa sale, I knew I just had to get it. Even though the palette’s name is All about pink, there are 8 lovely shades which range from pink to peach and even orange. It’s the perfect blush palette which will suit most skin tones! My first impression was that the shades were really pigmented and the pan sizes are nice and big!

Original Price: Rs. 1350

I got it for: Rs. 1013

It’s still available for Rs.1013 as of 24th October’15 on nykaa.com

Makeup Revolution London: Salvation Palette Professional Eyeshadows

Shade: What are you waiting for?

This palette consists of 12 shimmer shades and 6 matte shades. I don’t wear too much eyeshadow and really want to start experimenting more. I know I still haven’t reached the point where I can experiment with crazy colours like bright blues, greens and yellows and so decided to buy a more everyday palette with really easy to use and wearable colours. The shades are so pigmented and I love how they’re perfect for fall/autumn. The shades range from pinkish shades, plums, champagne, golds, bronze to charcoal! I can’t comment on how long they last but would love to a do a review if you’d like!

Original Price: Rs. 1350

I got it for: Rs. 1013

It’s still available for Rs.1013 as of 24th October’15 on nykaa.com

Colorbar Perfect Match BB Beauty Balm

Shade: 002 Honey Glaze

I prefer wearing BB creams on a daily basis as compared to foundations. I am almost out of my current everyday BB cream- Loreal’s Nude Magique. That BB cream is so amazing that it has really raised my expectation levels from other products. I hadn’t read too many reviews of this colorbar product and in fact bought it only cause I have never tried anything from colorbar before! The claims of the product looked really promising and it has sf 20 plus its paraben free. I just cannot comment on how I feel about how it feels on my skin since I have not worn it yet, but will surely update you!

Price: Rs.550

 TONI&GUY Prep Heat Protection Mist

I have heard of tony&guy products quite a bite and really wanted to try them out. Luckily, even though I have coloured my hair, it hasn’t been damaged (at least that’s what it looks like). However, I do use heat on my hair and since I was out of my older heat protection spray I decided to buy this one by Toni&Guy. I really hope it works for me since the product wasn’t really too cheap for it’s size! Along with using this heat protection spray, I also use a moroccan hair serum by Organix whenever I wash my hair. If you guys want a full hair care routine, do let me know!

Original Price: Rs. 725

I bought it at: Rs. 525

It’s still available for Rs. 525 as of October 24th’15 on nykaa.com

TOPSHOP Glow (Highlighter)

Shade: Gleam

Price: 9 pounds

IMG_2109I did quite a bit of research on TOPSHOP beauty when I found out that they’re available on feelunique.com. One product that stood out in every single review I read was this highlighter called GLOW, and oh my god, now I know why. I don’t own too many highlighters and this is my third one but I am so, so glad I took the leap to try this out. It is the most stunning gold toned highliter that works amazingly for indian skin tones. When blended well, its subtle to catch light but it’s always visible in the nice way! I can see my self wearing this everyday as well as for a glam night out!

Lip Colours (From Left to Right)

1.  TOPSHOP Matte Lip Bullet – Plastique – Price: 5.60 pounds from Feel Unique.com

2. Fleur de Force Lip Gloss- 050 Starry Night – Price: 6.99 pounds from Feel Unique.com

3.Fleur de Force Lip Gloss- 040 Lucky Star-  Price: 6.99 pounds from Feel Unique.com

4. Clinique High Impact Lip Colour Rouge Impact – 13 Flemenco – Price: 17 Dollars

5. Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick/ Rouge 410 Dynamic – Price: 30 Dollars

Swatches from Top to Bottom

(Note: The shades look glittery and I really really apologize for that. I did the swatches over the blended glow highlighter swatch which explains why. I am really sorry about that! The shades are in fact not weird and glittery at all.

IMG_2071 copy

1.  TOPSHOP Matte Lip Bullet – Plastique

It’s a beautiful mauve shade. Not really everyone’s cup of tea but I love it! I am a purple lips person and though I wouldn’t wear it on it’s own, I would probably layer with it Mac’s up the amp!

2. Fleur de Force Lip Gloss- 040 Lucky Star

It’s a beautiful red shade and even though I prefer Matte red lips, I just couldn’t stop my self from getting this! I am alsolutely obsessed with Fleur  and her videos and I knew I just had to get my hands on her collection. To my surprise, though this is a lipgloss, it’s not too sticky and has an amazing vanillish scent!

3. Fleur de Force Lip Gloss- 050 Starry Night

This is MY COLOUR! If you know me you would have seen me wear berry lips every single day. Yes, in summer, winter, autumn, spring. My everyday colour is berry. I don’t really know why but I guess it suits my skin tone well. Most of my berry lipsticks are either satin or matte finishes so I had to get a gloss version to glam up things a bit!

4. Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick/ Rouge 410 Dynamic

My dad bought me this lipstick and it’s a keeper! It’s the perfect nudey pink that one could ask for. Quite surprisingly, I didn’t have an everyday nude-pink and most of my nude lip colours were brown toned! I am really excited about using this even though it’s so stunning that I want it to last for as long as possible.

5. Clinique High Impact Lip Colour Rouge Impact – 13 Flemenco

Here’s a perfect warm toned red. I have been obsessed with Loreal’s Pure Red collection and especially the shade Blake. I knew I wanted a another red shade so got my hands on this beautiful red shade which is a little pinkish and a little orangish. As you can see, I am HORRIBLE at explaining colours. This shade will really suit indian skin tones!

=If you want me to review any of these products and want more beauty related posts, please do let me know! This was a haul post where I simply shared some of my new buys to give you some ideas of what you can purchase if you’re looking for some new makeup to try out!

Hey guys! As promised to you in my Skin Care Routine post, I finally have for you an ALL NATURAL DIY SKIN CARE routine. This routine makes use of ingredients that you can easily find in your kitchen. I will be absolutely honest with you and say that I do not follow this routine from beginning to end and instead mix and match a couple of steps from this routine and the other skin care routine that I posted earlier. However, if you are trying to shift to an all natural routine, this is ABSOLUTELY perfect for you! For each of the 4 steps (Exfoliating, Cleansing, Toning, Moisturizing), I have given at least one recipe. For some steps though, I have given more than one option. You do NOT have to do all the options. They are simply different methods that work for me. Try out all on different days and see what works for your skin best. Just do recipe from each step 🙂

Step One: Exfoliation

1. Sea salt and Oil:   Mix of equal parts sea salt and oil (like olive or almond) in a bowl. I use 1 tablespoon of each. This creates a natural scrub that will help remove impurities without stripping excess oils. Use this exfoliator once a week. Wash your face with a mild cleanser after this step.

2. Sugar and Almond Oil: Mix equal proportions of Almond oil and sugar in a bowl and gently massage on the face and lips. Wash your face with a cleanser after using this.

Step two: Cleansing (Daily)

1. Oil Cleanser – If you have never used a oil cleanser before you may find this rather strange, but trust me when I say it works really. An oil cleanser breaks down all dirt and even makeup while simultaneously leaving your skin moisturized. All you need to do is  mix of  1 /2 tablespoon of Almond Oil or Castor Oil with 2 tablespoons of Coconut Oil. Gently massage this oil mixture into your skin like you would massage a regular face wash and you will see the dirt on the face breaking down. Don’t worry if you have oily skin since this cleanser will not make your skin more oily. After using this cleanser you can use the Apple Cider Vinegar toner to restore the PH balance of your skin.

2.Chikpea powder and Milk– This cleanser is a rather traditional one and works really well too! All you need is some chickpea power and milk in equal proportions. I use about 2 tablespoons chikpea powder and 2 tablespoons of milk – mix them together and massage it on my face. You can simply grind chickpeas (White Chanaa) and store them in an air tight container rather than grinding them each them you want to use this cleanser.I do use this cleanser as a semi-mask too at times and leave it on my skin for about 5-7 minutes and then wash it off with cold water.

3.  Yogurt and Lemon Juice: I love using this cleanser in the summer! Simply take 2-3 spoons of yogurt and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice. Mix it generously and massage it on your skin and wash it off with cold water.

  1. Tomato juice/Mashed tomato and honey – Though I don’t use this toner on a daily basis, it works wonders to clear your skin of any excess dirt and tan. Take 1/4 mashed tomato and 1 tablespoon of honey and mix them together. Massage this to your face and wash it off with cold water. You can also use tomato juice (1 tablespoon) instead of mashed tomato. If you are using tomato juice and honey, you can mix these two together and use cotton to apply this mixture to your face.IMG_8231

2. Green tea: Green tea works like magic as a drink and even when applied to the skin! In my previous post I talked about how Green tea helps removing eye puffiness, and it this post you can see how green tea can be used as a toner!

Add 1 green tea bag into 1 cup of almost boiling water. Allow the tea to steep for 3 to 5 minutes.Remove the tea bag and pour the liquid into an air-tight container and let it cool down before shutting the lid tight. To use as a toner simply dipp a cotton ball into the tea and dab it on your skin. If you are using a spray bottle, just spritz your skin with the tea. Do not rinse.

3. Apple Cider Vinegar: I saved  my favorite toner for the end! Apple Cider Vinegar handsdown is the most facinating things ever. It’s so good for you- whether you drink 1 spoon a day or apply it on your face to restore the PH balance of your skin! It really is amazing!

For sensitive skin: Mix 1 part apple cider vinegar with 4 parts water

For normal skin: Mix 1 part apple cider vinegar with 2 parts water

For oily skin: Mix 1 part apple cider vinegar with 1 part water

I usually use 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar with at least 2 teaspoons of water. Dip a cotton pad into the mixture and dab it on your face and don’t wash it off. Before applying it on your face, I suggest you do a little patch test on your hand to see if it works okay! Always start with using more water if you’re using this toner for the first time! To know more about this toner check out this wonderful blog post!

Step Four: Moisturizer

Coconut Oil: Okay, so this a tricky step! If I use my trust worthy oil cleanser and then use apple cider vinegar toner (MY FAVORITE COMBINATION), I don’t see the need to moisturize since the oil cleanser does the job. However, lets say I use a normal cleanser by Neutrogena, then once in a while I use coconut oil (3-4 drops) as a moisturizer and it works amazingly well! All one needs to do is massage the drops into your skin after throughly washing your face.

The beauty of DIY SKIN CARE is that the power lies completely in your hands! You can try out multiple combinations and stick to an all natural routine or mix and match with market bought products. I love using this DIY SKIN CARE ROUTINE, but as mentioned before, I do not use all these products in one day- especially an oil cleanser and oil moisturizer on the same day! Hope you try out any of these days! If you have any questions, please do ask me by commenting here on my social media!

love you xx

Makeup 101: Winter Makeup Routine {Full face}

FullSizeRender (4)

Hey guys,

Today I want to share with you a list of products along with a full face makeup routine for winter. I recently got into using makeup and find it so much fun exprimenting with products and creating new looks. In this post I have mentioned at least one product for each part of your face. Please do note that this is NOT my everyday makeup routine and infact I don’t even wear makeup daily in the first place. This step by step product list + routine is a full proof guide for all those who want some ideas for an event, winter brunch, wedding or a day out where you’d want to dress up. This post should also help you if you’re absolutely new to makeup and want to go on a makeup spree but are not sure as to what products to buy. You can keep this list in mind and eliminate/add the products as you like 🙂 I have not explained the exact technique as to how to apply each product and I would love to do that in multiple posts in the future. I will also talk about makeup tools and non-makeup beauty products that are a must have in future posts! Please do let me know if you’re interested.

For some really smart and easy makeup tricks, go ahead and check out Shirin Rai Gupta’s blog post – Confessions of a Makeup Junkie. I learnt so much from it too! She talks about makeup tools, makeup removals, quick tips for eye shadows , her favorite makeup vloggers and lots more!

I must be honest and admit that I started used a primer fairly recently. Initially I wasn’t sure of what purpose it served but once I got my hands on Maybelline’s Pore eraser, there is no going back. Primers basically create a canvas on your face erasing or diminishing all pores that make sure your makeup stays on all day. Just take a pump and apply on your face (like moisturiser, especially focusing on the parts that have pores).

Products I love: Maybelline’s Baby Skin Instant Pore eraser

Benefit’s Porefessional

NYX Studio Perfect Primer

Having created a base for the makeup, next go ahead and apply foundation, BB cream or CC cream evenly all across the face. You can use a damp makeup sponge, a buffing brush or even your clean fingers. I’m personally okay with using my fingers to apply BB cream, so long as one takes enough time to blend it in the skin. The good part about the BB cream I use is that it gives a decent amount of coverage and can be built up for full coverage. In case of the the Rimmel BB cream, one doesn’t need a concealer too since the BB cream does the job well.

Products I love: Rimmel’s BB cream (Matte)

Maybelline’s Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation

Though the BB cream does the job, and equalizes the skin tone across the face, if you must, use the concealer to brighten up the under eye area prone to dark circles or conceal any zits that my skin may have. For this, both the concealers do an amazing job! Just make sure that you don’t tugg on the under eye area and use your clean ring finger to apply the concealer. You can also add the concealer/highlighter on the fore head and the side of the nose to brighten up these areas.(see image below)

Products I love: Rimmel’s Wake me up Concealer

Maybelline’s Dream Lumi Concealer

Maybelline’s Dream Matt Powder works as a dream to set the foundation and concealer in itself place. Use a powder brush to apply this powder, focusing on the T-zone area. This powder ensures that your skin remains matt throughout the day and the foundation doesnt budge from its place

The main purpose of contouring and highlighting is to bring in shadows and highlights on to your face, where the light would naturally fall. For those all you need is a bronzer or try improvising by using a matt eye shadow color that is a little darker than your skin colour.Use a contour brush for this or any brush that will give you a certain amount of precision. Apply the darker colour as shown in the image below. The darkest brown shade is the bronzer, lightest shade is the concealer, the pinkish shade is the blush and the glitter as shown in the image is an illuminator or the highlighter. For highlighting, you can use a highlighter or simply a lighter eye shadow that can pass of as on- something neutral ofcourse. Apply it right above your cheek bones, on the forehead and upper the lip as shown in the picture Apply the Blush on the apples cheeks on an upward motion as shown in the picture.

Products I love: Blush: Rimmel’s Lasting Finish soft colour mono blush

Revlon’s Photo ready cream blush

Bronzer: Rimmel’s Natural Bronzer

Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder

Highlighter: Revlon Photoready Skinlights

NYX Illuminator

EYE LID: To create a neutral yet fun look, I used the MUA  romantic efflorescence palette and the Revlon  Colour Stay 16 hour Eye Shadow quad.  On the light, apply shade 1 (as shown in the image). What i love about this shade is that though it;’s glittery, it stays on for the whole day and doesn’t budge at all. CREASE: In the crease of your eye, apply shade 2 to darken the look. Make sure you blend it extremely well so that no harsh lines show. EYE BROW HIGHLIGHT and NNER CORNER HIGHLIGHT: Apply shade 3 (Revlon’s Quad) to highlight the inner corner of your eyes and the eyebrow. If you don’t want to invest in eyeshadhow paltettes curently, I highly recommend Maybelline’s  24 hour Colour Tattoo. These single eye shadows are absolutely AMAZING. You simply need to apply this one shade on your entire eyelid and that’s all you need.

2.EYE LINER: Apply a winged eyeliner (Ill be happy to do a turtorial on the same). I use the Loreal Super Liner.

3. WATER LINE: I cannot go out without applying Kohl. I apply Kajal on the water line focusing it on the outer half of the waterline and not in the inner corner. Focusing it on the inner corner will  make your eyes look smaller.

4.  EYE BROWS:  #Thebrowgame is so, so important. Make sure you fill in your brows either with an eye shadow that matches your brow shade or use an eyebrow pencil. Rimmel’s Brow pencil is so inexpensive and does a brilliant job. I also swear by Benefit’s Brow Voluminizing Fiber Gel.

5. MASCARA: Apply atleast two coats of Mascara to add volume and lengthen your eyelashes. I swear by Maybelline’s The Falsies. It’s handsown the best drugstore Mascara available. You can also check on Benefit’s They’re Real which is known to do wonders.FullSizeRender (7)

I love a good pink lip and using two shades works wonders to create the perfect tone. I use the Rimmel Chubby stick  (Lasting Finissh Colour Rush)  all over the lip followed my Maybelline’s Colorsensational lipstick in light pink focused on the centre of the lips.

That completes a full face makeup routine! If you have any queries when it comes to the products (exact shades and specifications), their availability, techniques, tools  etc, you can email me on sarasuri@gmail.com or comment on Instagram and I will surely answer your questions. Im so sorry for not being able to go in depth with how each product needs to be applied as this post would never end! I really hope this post gave you some basic information on the products I love using. 99% of the products here are drug store products and hence are extrmely reasonable. There’s no need to spend too much money on makeup especially when you’re a beginner. Most of the products can be used for multiple purposes as I talked about it earlier throughout the post 🙂

DIY Winter Skincare: Face Masks, Body Scrubs and Hair Masks

Hello everyone!

As many of you may know that I have my exams going on so getting out of the house has drastically reduced. Since I spend most of my time at home studying or procrastinating, I feel the need to ‘invest’ time in pampering my self once in a while. Now that winter has finally set in, for the majority of us our skin is dry and lathering ourselves in body butters sounds like the best option (not the cheapest though). Today, I am sharing with you super quick and easy winter skin DIY’s for which majority of the ingredients you would have in your kitchen pantry! There are a few basic ingredients like yogurt, honey, oats, coconut oil which are used multiple times across the recipes so do make sure you’re stalked up 🙂

There are all the ingredients you need for ALL the recipes 🙂 [Specific quantities are mentioned in each DIY recipe]

1. Oats – It contains avenanthramides, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds that soothe itchy, dry and irritated skin. Oatmeal is also great for acne-prone skin because it absorbs oil from the skin’s surface.

2. Egg – Brilliant for skin tightening, removing white-heads and oil blotting.

3. Honey – Natural cleanser, brightener and scar remover, moisturizer and is packed with anti-oxidants

4. Cocoa Powder- High antioxidant content, increased blood flow, has many vitamins such as A, B, B COMPLEX. Make sure, the darker the chocolate- more benefits.

5. Yogurt- It contains lactic acid which helps in exfloitating the skin, reducing wrinkles, clear blemishes and discoloration.

6. Banana – Gets rid of dark spots, hydrates and moisturizes the skin, diminishes appearance of wrinkles and evens out the skin.

7. Papaya- Containing Vitamin A and Papain enzyme, papaya helps remove dead skin cells and inactive proteins, thus rejuvenating your skin. It also reduces blemishes, heals sore or cracked heels. Finally, it can also be used in a hair mask for controlling dandruff

8. Coffee – It contains caffeic acid, which has anti-inflammatory effects and can boost collagen production.

9. Normal Sugar and Brown Sugar- Natural exfoliants. Brown sugar contains glycolic acid, that fights bacteria. It is a natural humectant so it absorbs moisture from your environment and deposits it into your skin.

10. Apple Cider Vinegar  Balances hair and scalp pH, removes product buildup, and treats dandruff and hair loss.

11. Mayonnaise –  Has L-cysteine–an amino acid and powerful antioxidant found in eggs that can give your hair strength, shine and structure. It also has oil which is a really good conditioner

12. Coconut Oil

13. Almond Oil or Almonds

14. Olive Oil

15. Vanilla Extract and/or Cinnamon (Optional)

Note: All the photographs are for reference and are NOT the exact measurements. Please look at the instructions that I’ve written for each DIY!

Face masks

1) Classic Oatmeal Face Mask

1 egg

1 tablespoon of honey

2) Chocolate Face Mask

-1/3 cup cocoa powder

-1/4 cup honey

-2 Tbsp plain yogurt

-3 tsp oats

Place all iingredientsinto a blender, and blend until smooth. (If you don’t have a blender/mixi , just mix it by hand untill it reaches a nice smooth consistency). Apply to clean, dry skin and leave on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with warm water. Pat dry. [In this picture I have used regular unsweetened cocoa powder, but try your self to get your hands on the purest form possible , ie absolutely unsweetened with a very high percentage of cocoa].

3) Papaya, banana and yogurt Face Mask

1 mashed Banana

Half a bowl of mashed Papaya

3 tablepsoons of Yogurt

Apply to clean, dry skin and leave on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with warm water. Pat dry.

Body scrub

1) Coffee Body Scrub

2 cups coffee grounds

1/2 cup raw sugur

¼ cup coconut oil

Combine them in a small bowl (You can also add brown sugar, cinnamon, or vanilla extract for making it smell yummy). Apply to wet skin in a circular motion and wash it off like you would normally, in a bath.

2) Sweet Almond Body Scrub

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup almond oil OR just take almonds and grind them in a bowl.

2 tsp honey

1 tsp pure vanilla extract

1/2 up coconut oil

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Massage the scrub into your skin in circular motions,  concentrating on rough or dry areas of the skin. Rinse with warm water. Pat dry [If you’re using almonds then use 1 small cup coconut oil. If you’re using almond oil, then use half a cup coconut oil]

Hair Masks

1) The  Cleanser Mask

2 tablespoons of Honey

1 cup of Olive Oil (depending on the length of your hair)

1 tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar

Mix them in a bowl and apply it on your hair for atleast 1 hour. You can also take a hot towel (Simply immerse a hotel in extremely hot water and rinse of the excess water) and wrap it around your head for the time you have the mask on. Wash off normally with a mild shampoo.

2) The Conditioner Mask

1.5 cups of Mayonnaise

2 tablespoons of Honey

1/2 cup of olive oil or coconut oil – Though Mayonnaise has oil, I do like using coconut oil for that extra nourishment.

Mix these  ingredients in a bowl and apply the mask on to your hair- focusing on the body of the hair and not the roots. Keep the mask on for about 30 minutes and wash it off normally.

For the love of Old School

Hey guys,

If you know me by now, there’s one thing that I absolutely cannot forego and thats comfort. By comfort  I dont simply mean comfortable clothing, but also the little things that keep us in a happy place. Ever since I was a kid, I would go to the Delhi Gymkhana Club and Delhi Golf Club with my parents every weekend and sometimes more often. There’s something about these clubs that lets me eat my cup of tea, yummy chicken sandwiches or even the endless array of sumptuous food {Sunday buffets YUM} without feeling guilty. Both these clubs being a century or less old are quaint and magnificient at the same time. Whether it may be the formal winter lunches, the simple relaxed tea hour or the crazy thursday/saturday nights, I can see my self spending hours there and not keeping any track of time {#truegrannyatheart}

Recently, Madhavi and I decided to visit the Delhi Gymkhana Club {a good place to go when the pocket is a little light}. Though we couldn’t make it for the lunch hour, we decided to sit down in the lawns have some tea with ‘snacks’ {Ofcourse!}. We ordered two cups of tea, my favorite- chicken sandwiches and one portion of cheese balls. Now, we cant go wrong with the former too, but if you’ve had the cheese balls then you know they exemplify addiction+weirdness in a whole. Though they taste strange, you can’t just more than one. Maybe its only me, but I have always felt that way since I can remember.

On an ideal situation , especially if it was a Thursday, we would have stayed on and moved to the bar by 7 pm, but since time wasn’t really in our favour, we decided to stick to tea and conversations. However, we did manage to go to the bakery (within the club) and pack some bread! {granny moment again} Trust me when I tell you that it’s some of the yummiest bread, ever!

Moving on to the outfit, I kept it as classic as possible with a white midi dress and moccasins. What I loved about this look is it’s versatility.  With a couple of accessories and a bright lip, one could easily transform this look from day-to-night. Now that its getting a little chilly, I can also imagine my self adding a leather jacket {to make it a  little edgier} or adding a blazer to keep it formal! A midi dress such as this should definitely be on the list of top 10 must haves. The moccasins on the other hand need no introduction. Yet another classic pair, you just cannot go wrong with them. Though these particular pair arent everyone’s cup of tea cause of their androgynous element, I just cannot get enough of them.

Review: Kronokare Caribbean Ginger Travel Kit

Hey guys!

If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen a photograph that I uploaded of my new Kronokare Carribean Ginger Travel Kit, a while ago! I wanted to review these products as soon as I tested them but realized that a true review would only be possible once I use all these products for a prolonged period of time. It would then help me give a better understanding of these goodies along with seeing their long(ish) term effects! Now that all the bottles are empty (other than the body lotion which is larger and I alternate with my Soap & Glory body lotion), it seemed like the perfect time to upload this review 🙂IMG_6188The basic detailsThe products I received from Kronokare were – A shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, glycerine soap and Body Lotion, all part of the Kronokare Caribbean Ginger Travel Kit (As seen in the photograph) priced at Rs. 595.

The Packaging: I’m a sucker for fun quirky packaging and Kronokare products fit the bill. All the products have eye catching names which is another plus point. The conditioner, for example is named Detox on the Rocks whereas the Body Lotion is called Fabulous Fix! Though the bottles aren’t extremely luxurious looking/made out of glass, I really feel these cute little bottle are definitely more practical. As the name implies, they are perfectly sized to take with you when you’re travelling. In fact, one wouldn’t be worried about the bottle breaking either.

The product: If you love warm scents, you’ll really love the Caribbean Ginger range. Though Ginger is the predominant ingredient, I do sense a hint of citrus which adds to the freshness of the products.  I have previously written a post on DIY Hair Masks and Ginger was one of the shining heroes so when I received this product range, I knew that one just couldn’t go wrong.  Ginger works to increase scalp circulation. When blood flows to the scalp, it stimulates the hair follicles and encourages growth. The fatty acids in the root are great for thin hair. Ginger also has antiseptic properties that work to get rid of dandruff.

Another thing that works for these products is that they are Paraben and SLS free!{Parabens are a group of chemicals used as preservatives and found in many toiletries products and make-up.  They are added to kill bacteria, prevent the growth of mould and prolong the shelf-life of products. Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS), on the other hand is a foaming agent and exactly the same product is used to degrease our car engines. In the same way as it dissolves the grease on car engines, Sodium Lauryl Sulphate also dissolves oils on your skin.} We all know that products put on the skin should be as pure, natural and fresh as possible, after all they do find their way into our blood stream so it really makes sense to ensure you always use the most natural available. These products precisely do that since they contain all natural extracts of Ginger and lime. Most importantly, these products are CRUELTY FREE!

Usage: The products are really easy to use and don’t require any special instructions.. I have naturally wavy hair and after using any of the hair products, I did realize that the texture of hair didn’t change (PLUS POINT!). The shampoo is pretty mild and I used it every alternate day  (though no instructions are given as to its maximum usage).  There have been times when after using certain shampoos my hair gets curlier than normal! The ‘in bath’ products work really well and even though they all are a part of the same range, in some way or the other they do have a distinct scent. I did have to use a bit more conditioner than I would normally have to but that depends on personal usage since I’m the kind of person to deep condition my hair pretty often.  The body lotion has to be my favourite product from the entire range and hence Im really trying to savour it! I don’t use it on a daily basis and save it for those long tiring days when all I can think of is a long hot shower! This lotion seriously reminds me of sheer luxury at a really good price.  It’s for the perfect consistency and though it’s really humid outside, it doesn’t make my skin sticky at all. The Gylcerine soap was the surprise element of the entire pack for me! I don’t see my self using soap too often and usually gravitate towards liquid soaps. This one though was really lovely! My skin was left moisturized after each wash and I can definitely see my self using this product again!

Overall: I really enjoyed using these products! The travel pack is definitely worth the buy for the number of things it includes in one pack. It also makes for a lovely gift since these products are pretty mild and work with most hair and skin types. If you’re the type who needs slightly stronger hair products, I recommend you using the shampoo and conditioner in combination with a hair mask 🙂

Review & Haul: The Kirana Shop

Meherchand Market has been a favorite for a while now! Though, it doesn’t replace Khan Market for me, I do find my self visiting this hub more than ever. On visit visit to Meherchand, I came across this pretty mint colour board named The Kirana Shop. {Anything mint will definitely capture my eye!}. Having seen it’s presence on social media and heard about it through a couple of friends, I decided to check it out and boy, was I surprised! The Kirana Shop as the name suggests houses all your basic groceries, but with a twist of course! In a time of fast-paced lifestyles, where processed food and chemicals seep into our habits, we  need a little help from Nature itself. This shop is basically a one-stop shop for everything organic and healthy! In a way, its a go-to for those committed to a wholesome lifestyle. Well-stocked shelves that have on display minimally-processed foods, organic produce, natural beauty products and nutritional supplements; The Kirana  has something in store for everyone.

The Store

The store in itself is very well organized with organic staples, detox foods, beauty products all segregated making life simpler for any shopper. It really does give a person space to browse around and take their time to go through different products and brands. If you’re lucky, youll find the same product in multiple brands giving you more options to choose from!

The Haul

My visit to The Kirana Shop turned out to be more fruitful than I expected! I picked up quite a few times to try out or re-stock in the Kitchen. I have really started using all natural beauty products too so obviously couldn’t resist picking up these. I got a lavender soap, Just herbs face pack trio , organic kajal {I really needed this since my eye water way too easily} and my favorite- chocolate body wash! I really recommend you try out the Just Herbs treatement pack – its UHAMAZZINGG. Next I went in for the Sulai Honey, Rose Herbal Mint Tea and Nippat. Sulai Honey is perfect as a replacement for sugar and works really well with pancakes too {trust me!}. Mint tea on the other hand is full of antioxidants and is really, really good for you to kick start your day. I love spicy food so when I saw the Bhoot Jolokia bottle, I just coudn’t stop my self! I had to pick it up. {This is EXTREMELY spicy so if you do buy it, make sure you use it wisely}. If you’re like me, you probably feel hungry every two hours {hides face} but still want to snack healthy! A snack like Nippat is amazing if eaten in the right proportion with your favorite pickle. I picked up the Ginger Pickle by the Kirana Shop itself and its divine! Ginger is not everyone’s cup of tea but I absolutely love it. Now, coming to the really healthy stuff- I bought Acai Powder, Cold Pressed Coconut Oil, Gluten Free Museli, Palm Jaggery and brown rice. All these products have SO many healthy benefits and work is brilliant substitutes in every day cooking. To be honest, all of these products are still not that easily available, so I must admit I was really excited to see them all stacked in one store! If you’re in to smart eating and no fad diets, visiting this little store can surely make you really happy. Having asked the sales lady, I was told that they also deliver around the area {which really helps all those who can’t by themselves}.

Verdict: The Kirana Shop has a great variety of products under one roof which are really worth checking out. As mentioned earlier, that was a huge plus point for me since sourcing different products from different shops across the city can be pain. From Cacao nibs to Aachar, you have it all! I personally loved the quality and packing of the Kirana Shop products themselves! Yes, some of the products are definitely not very budget friendly but others are really worth the buy!
